Welcome to beautiful Bilbao! This port city in northern Spain is part of the Pais Vasco — the Basque Country. It’s the largest city in this part of Spain, known best for its culinary scene and the famous Guggenheim Museum. If you think you know Spanish cities, just wait until you see Bilbao — with its wild architecture, rainy days, green parks, and pintxos bars, Bilbao makes an impression unlike anywhere else! Bilbao was the first place I visited in the Basque Country — together with my husband and two friends — and I did not expect it to make such an intense impression on me.
