A 12-year-old boy from rural China, named Li Shibo, has captured the hearts of millions with his selfless act of kindness. Despite facing hardships in his own life, Li chooses to prioritize his mother’s well-being.
Li, a Primary Two student, was discovered by his teacher, Mr. Wang, sharing his school lunch with his mother who suffers from a mental disability. Instead of enjoying the meal himself, Li opted to give it to his mother, who waited for him outside the school gate.
The teacher, moved by Li’s gesture, shared the heartwarming moment on Douyin, a popular Chinese social media platform. The video quickly went viral, garnering immense praise and support from the public.
It was later revealed that Li also has a minor mental disability and lives with his mother, his mentally disabled elder sister, and their bedridden grandmother. His father passed away in a car accident years ago. Despite their challenging circumstances, Li remains a beacon of hope, displaying remarkable compassion and filial piety.
The outpouring of love and support from the public has been overwhelming. Thousands of people have donated money and essential goods to the family, and volunteers have visited their home to offer assistance. Local authorities have also stepped in to provide support, including free meals for the family.
